Jesus Can Be Found - By: Victor Knowles - ARM Prison Outreach

EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK
            George Bancroft said, “I find the name of Jesus Christ written on the top of every page of modern history.”  I find the picture of Jesus, in thought, theme, type or title, in every book of the Bible.  The theme of the Bible is Jesus.  He said, without equivocation, “The Scriptures . . . testify of Me” (John 5:39).  And they do!  Never forget it.  Other themes revolve around Him like the planets revolve around the sun.  The grand and sweeping theme of Scripture, like a sparkling river flowing from Genesis to Revelation, is Jesus Christ, the Living Logos.  Everywhere you look in the 66 books of the Bible, His overpowering image appears.
            In Genesis Jesus is the Seed of Woman.  In Exodus He is the Passover Lamb.  In Leviticus He is the Scapegoat sent into the wilderness bearing our sins.  In Numbers He is the Cloud by day and the Pillar of Fire by night.  In Deuteronomy He is our City of Refuge to Whom we may flee.
            In Joshua He is the Scarlet Thread hung from Rahab’s window.  In Judges He is the Judge who delivers us from all our enemies.  In Ruth He is our Kinsman Redeemer.  In 1 & 2 Samuel He is the Strength of Israel.  In 1 & 2 Kings He is the Rebuilder of everything that’s broken.  In Esther He is the Deliverer of His people from destruction.
            In Job He is our Redeemer who ever lives.  In Psalms He is my Shepherd and I shall not want.  In Proverbs He is the Beginning of Knowledge.  In Ecclesiastes He is the Preacher standing in the midst of the Great Congregation.  In Song of Solomon He is the Rose of Sharon and the Lily of the Valleys.
            In Isaiah He is (sing it!) Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace!  In Jeremiah & Lamentations He is the healing Balm of Gilead.  In Ezekiel He is the Plant of Renown.  In Daniel He is the Fourth Man walking in the midst of the fire.
            In Hosea He is the broken-hearted Lover who will not let us go.  In Joel He is the Deliverance of Zion.  In Amos He is the Tabernacle of David.  In Obadiah He is the Savior standing on Mount Zion.  In Jonah He is the Sign of the Prophet.  In Micah He is the Ruler of Israel.  In Nahum He is the Avenger of His adversaries.  In Habakkuk He is the Vision for the Appointed Time.  In Zephaniah He is the Lord Mighty to Save.  In Haggai He is the Desire of all Nations.  In Zechariah He is the Fountain filled with Blood.  And in Malachi He is the Sun of Righteousness risen with healing in His wings!
            In Matthew Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God!  In Mark He is the miracle-working Son of Man.  In Luke He is the Consolation of Israel.  In John He is the Only Begotten Son of God, the Word of God, the Lamb of God, the Bread of Life, the Open Door, the Good Shepherd, the True Vine, and the Light of the World.
            In Acts He is the Shining Light who appeared to Saul on the Damascus Road.  In Romans He is the Propitiation and Atonement for our sins.  In 1 & 2 Corinthians He is the Resurrection and the Unspeakable Gift.  In Galatians He is the Seed of Abraham.  In Ephesians He is the Cornerstone.  In Philippians He is the Name above all names.  In Colossians He is the Hope of Glory.  In 1 & 2 Thessalonians He is our Soon Coming King.  In 1 & 2 Timothy He is the Mediator between God and Man and the Judge of the Quick and the Dead.  In Titus He is our Great God and Savior.  In Philemon He is the Friend who Forgives and Receives us back.
            In Hebrews He is the Apostle and High Priest of our Confession.  In James He is the Lord of Glory.  In 1 & 2 Peter He is the Rock of Offense and the Day Star rising in our hearts.  In 1, 2, & 3 John He is the Savior of the World.  In Jude He is the Lord coming with 10,000 of His Saints.  And in The Revelation of Jesus Christ, praise God, He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last, the Bright Morning Star, the Lion of Judah, the Root of David, the Lamb Slain, the First Begotten of the Dead, the King of kings, and Lord of lords!
            He’s everywhere you look!
“All hail the power of Jesus’ name!
Let angels prostrate fall;
Bring forth the royal diadem.
And crown Him Lord of all!”
