Exodus and Creation

Did you know that it really does matter whether God took six days or millions/billions of years to create the universe and everything in it?
Of course, God the Creator could have taken 6,000 years, 6 years, or even 6 seconds.  But the point is that it’s not what He could have done—it’s what He said He did.  If you accept the clear teaching of the Bible, and have no outside influences, it’s clear that Genesis chapter one teaches that God created the universe and all life in six, 24-hour days.
For confirmation of the Genesis account of creation and its length, go to Exodus 20:11.  There God teaches us again that, “For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day.”  God worked for six days and rested for one in order to set a pattern for us.  That’s the origin of our seven-day week.
We need to take God at His Word when He told us so plainly that creation took six days.
