Reaching a Skeptical World

by Ken Ham
Adapted from the January 11, 2013 broadcast of the Answers … with Ken Ham radio program.  For a listing of the hundreds of stations that carry the program, visit AnswersinGenesis.org/radiolog.
When I first started speaking about creation and the authority of the Bible back in the 1970s, I didn’t get the response I had hoped.  I spoke to audiences, for example, about the science behind the age of the earth.  But that didn’t seem to stir the people.
Then I read The Genesis Record by Dr. Henry Morris.  His book showed how important and foundational the book of Genesis is to our Christian faith and how it even answers every-day questions.  So, I worked “relevance” topics into my messages.
And what a change it was!  When people had relevant answers for their faith, they were excited.
Increasingly, our skeptical culture us teaching young and old to doubt God’s Word, and even Christian leaders on TV and professors at Christian schools are doing so.  But when you show people that Scripture can be trusted, you will break down walls and better reach non-Christians.  Then when people fully trust the Bible, they can also trust the Jesus they see in the Bible.
