The Heart of Prayer

God, who is a God of law and order, has set certain conditions on His promise to hear and answer our prayers. What kind of heart must we have for God to hear us?
A Pure Heart: “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me” (Psalm 66:18). This means that the man who continually practices sin and who has in his heart a purpose to commit sin, and who clings to sin, has no claim upon the ear of God. The only prayer such a person can expect God to hear is one of repentance.
An Unselfish Heart: “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts” (James 4:3). Man has no right to ask God for something which he wants to use merely for the gratification of his own desires or for his own personal satisfaction.
A Humble Heart: “Thou hast heard the desire of the humble: Thou wilt prepare their heart, Thou wilt cause Thine ear to hear” (Psalm 10:17). God hates pride, but He loves humility. God says that He hears the humble man.
A Yielded Heart: “If we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us” (1 John 5:14). A heart yielded to God’s will is certainly a heart that is pure and unselfish. The life in which the will of God is foremost is a life which seeks God’s glory, and one which will experience His blessings.
A Believing Heart: “All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive” (Matthew 21:22). Nowhere does God promise to answer prayer offered without faith. A believing heart is essential if we are to meet the conditions which God places upon our access to Him with our petitions.
Christ’s Heart: “Whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13). Only by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ are men saved. Only through His blood are sins washed away, and only in Him do we become children of God. How proper, therefore, that our prayers to our Father should be in the Name and for the sake of Jesus Christ. Praying “in the Name of Jesus” simply means praying with Christ’s interests in mind—asking the Father for the things that touch the heart of Christ. In Christ’s Name we may bring our petitions to our Heavenly Father, and “He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32). mwtb.org

Illegal Immigration = More Identity Theft, More Murder, More Rape And More Drug Dealing

Do we want to encourage drug dealers, violent gang members and serial rapists to come into this country?  If not, why is that exactly what the Obama administration is doing?  Thanks to very foolish U.S. government policies, it is incredibly difficult to immigrate to this country legally, but it is incredibly easy to immigrate to this country illegally.  So we are keeping out large numbers of good, honest, hard working people at the same time that we have given a giant green light to criminals and lawbreakers.  Does that make any sense at all?  We need an immigration system that forces everyone to come in through the front door.  Instead, we have made the process of getting in through the front door a complete and total nightmare and yet we have left the back door totally wide open.  And if the millions upon millions of lawbreakers that are coming in to this country illegally just took our jobs and drained our welfare system, perhaps it wouldn’t be that bad.  Unfortunately, that is not the case.  In fact, illegal immigration has greatly contributed to rising violent crime rates all over the nation.  Gang membership is exploding, Mexican drug cartels are operating in more of our communities than ever before, and identity theft by illegal immigrants is at epidemic levels.  Something desperately needs to be done.
But instead, the Obama administration is trying to ram amnesty for illegal immigrants through Congress as quickly as possible.  According to the Congressional Budget Office, this bill will cause unemployment to go up and wages to go down for many years.  And by rewarding illegal immigration, the federal government will just encourage much more of it.  But our politicians don’t really seem concerned with the consequences.  In fact, the Senate is going to vote on the immigration bill without even reading it.
Instead of focusing on what we “owe” to those that have broken our laws by entering this country illegally, perhaps we should be talking about some of the horrible crimes that they have been committing while they have been living here.
For example, it recently came out that illegal immigrants have been stealing massive amounts of money from the federal government by filing fraudulent tax returns.
According to one recent news report, the IRS sent “23,994 tax refunds worth a combined $46,378,040″ to a single address in Atlanta, Georgia.  All of those fraudulent tax refunds were sent to illegal immigrants.
How in the world did the IRS not catch that?
Amazingly, that was not the only address in Atlanta where this kind of thing was going on
The IRS sent 11,284 refunds worth a combined $2,164,976 to unauthorized alien workers at a second Atlanta address; 3,608 worth $2,691,448 to a third; and 2,386 worth $1,232,943 to a fourth.
And here are some more examples from around the country where huge numbers of fraudulent tax refunds were being sent to a single address
Oxnard, California; 2,507 refunds worth $10,395,874.
Raleigh, North Carolina; 2,408 refunds worth $7,284,212.
Phoenix, Arizona; 2,047 refunds worth $5,558,608.
Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; 1,972 refunds worth $2,256,302.
San Jose, California; 1,942 refunds worth $5,091,027.
Arvin, California; 1,846 refunds worth $3,298,877.
Overall, it has been estimated that 2 million illegal immigrants file fraudulent tax returns each year and that they are pulling in more than 4 billion dollars in tax refunds each year that they are not entitled to.
So why doesn’t the IRS do something about this?
Well, perhaps it is because they are too busy harassing conservatives.  In fact, we have recently learned that the head of the IRS made dozens of trips to the White House during Obama’s first term, and his chief of staff actually made hundreds of visits to the White House during Obama’s first term.
Instead of spending all that time plotting how to hurt their political enemies, perhaps they should have been doing something about the 2 million fraudulent tax returns that illegal immigrants are flooding the system with.
And illegal immigrants are responsible for an increasing percentage of violent crime in this country.  In fact, some of those that you see on the television marching for “immigration reform” are actually committing violent crimes during their free time.  For example, it turns out that a top “immigration rights activist” down in Texas was really a serial bank robber
Hispanic leaders in North Texas are stunned that an accused serial bank robber was once one of their own. Luis Delagarza was arrested for the April robbery of a Wells Fargo Bank, but an FBI Task Force also identified him as the ‘Mesh Mask Bandit’ whose hit 19 banks since New Year’s Eve. The ‘Mesh Mask Bandit’ robbed most of his banks in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch-North Dallas area. But they are also just a few blocks away from Delagarza’s home in Farmers Branch, in a community where he made a name for himself pushing for immigration rights. His arrest has left fellow activists, such as Carlos Quintanilla, in shock.
“Luis Delagarza robbed banks, I guess, to deal with his demons, and that’s a sad story,” Quintanilla told CBS 11. Latinos in North Texas may remember Delagarza as an organizer of protests and marches for immigration rights, like one in Irving in 2007. “So he did some amazing things as a community leader, as a businessman, and all of that was just poisoned by him becoming a serial bank robber,” according to Quintanilla.
But robbing a bank is one thing.  Attacking innocent women is much worse.
Unfortunately, the national media doesn’t like to talk about all of the rapes that illegal immigrants are committing.  The following is from a local news report about a serial rapist that turned out to be an illegal immigrant in the Dallas area
As investigators continue to delve into the background of the man arrested in recent rapes in the Lake Highlands area, residents began to exhale Wednesday after more than a month of fear.
“I have felt terrorized,” said Erin Morgan, who lives less than a mile from two of the three houses where attacks occurred. “I have lost sleep. I have added on additional layers of security to my home and thought through scenarios that I didn’t want to spend any time thinking through.”
Police say Cesar Benitez confessed to three attacks on women within about a quarter-mile of each other between Feb. 22 and March 19.
And sometimes they don’t just attack adult women.
Just check out what one very sick illegal immigrant recently did over in California
On Saturday, police in Barstow arrested Jose Luis Aguilar, 36, at a Greyhound bus station after he reportedly sexually assaulted and beat his girlfriend’s baby daughter to death.
A day earlier, the baby’s mother, Jennifer Reedy, 31, awoke to find her daughter lying dead in her crib.
Aguilar was gone, as was Reedy’s car and money from her purse.
Police were able to find Aguilar using the GPS in his cellphone.
So why is the federal government encouraging these people to come into this country?
We need an immigration policy that encourages productive, law abiding people to move here and that keeps violent criminals out.
Unfortunately, our current policy is allowing hordes of lawless young men to come flooding into this country, and as a result gang membership is absolutely exploding.
The FBI says that there are approximately 1.4 million gang members in the United States at this point, and that number has risen by an astounding 40 percent just since 2009.
Is that a good thing for our nation?
And these gangs are starting to gain a stranglehold on communities all over the nation.  Just check out what is happening in Chicago
Of the seven biggest Mexican drug trafficking organizations, the Sinaloa cartel has the biggest foothold in the U.S. Some estimates indicate that the group moves an average of one kilo of cocaine across the Nation’s border every 10 minutes. With the large amount of product coming into the United States, the cartels have set up hubs of operation here to manage distribution, and not just in border States.
In Chicago, where prolific violence makes headlines daily, Sinaloa has set up its American base of operations, tapping in to the heavily Mexican population of the city’s Little Village area.
“Chicago, with 100,000 gang members to put the dope on the street, is a logistical winner for the Sinaloa cartel,” Jack Riley, the Drug Enforcement Administration’s special agent in charge of the Chicago field division, told The Washington Post  after a tour through Little Village. “We have to operate now as if we’re on the Mexican border.”
But this kind of thing is not just happening in major cities such as Chicago.  It is spreading very, very rapidly.
According to the Justice Department’s National Drug Intelligence Center,  Mexican drug cartels were actively operating in 50 different U.S. cities in 2006.  By 2010, that number had skyrocketed to 1,286.
Are you starting to understand why so many people are upset about our illegal immigration crisis?
But many of our politicians in Washington don’t care about these things.  In particular, Democrats seem to be obsessed with the idea that legalizing illegal immigrants will gain them hordes of loyal new voters.
And some of these politicians are warning that if we don’t legalize the illegal immigrants that we could see massive street protests.  The following is what Senator Chuck Schumer told CNN on Sunday
I could see a million people on the mall in Washington — on the platform would not be the usual suspects but the leaders of business, the leaders of the Evangelical movement, the leaders of high tech as well as most Americans pressuring the House to act. I think they’re going to have to act whether they have a majority of Republicans [in the House] or not.
Unfortunately, no matter what happens to this bill the illegal immigration crisis is not going away.  The Obama administration has already shown that it will continue to do everything that it canto promote even more illegal immigration.
But this is not what the American people want.  In fact, one recent survey showed that even 68 percent of Hispanics in Texas support more border security.
We need to secure our border, and we need to make sure that all immigrants come in through the front door.  Instead, the federal government seems to want to do everything that it can to make life easier for those that have broken our laws and that are taking advantage of us.  One of my favorite columnists, Devvy Kidd, recently put it this way…
Do we reward bank robbers who steal what doesn’t belong to them? Do we reward thieves who rob a gas station? Illegal aliens are no different. They lie and cheat their way into this country. They steal people’s identities ruining their credit and lives. They steal the fruits of our labor to pay for their illegal babies, education and the massive cost of clogging our judicial system with their crimes. And now we’re going to reward them?
So what do you think about the immigration crisis in this country?

2 lies behind the Prop 8 challenge

Since I posted this, the Supreme Court ruled that the defenders of Proposition 8 had no standing to appeal the ruling that the proposition was unconstitutional. The result is that Prop 8 is struck down, and same-sex marriage is legal in California, as of 7:30 am today.
prop 8 poster
Having lived in California during the passage of Proposition 8, and now in Washington DC during the amendment’s legal challenge, I have realized that most people—even most Christians—don’t understand what was at stake with this lawsuit. Many people simply don’t grasp the lies behind the challenge to Proposition 8.
The first lie: the challenge was about gay marriage. The truth is that it is about a Christian’s right to vote.
The second lie: Proposition 8 took away a right to gay marriage. The truth is, that right never (legally) existed in California.
In 2000, California voters approved a law that defined marriage as between a man and a woman, while granting the state the ability to give all the benefits of marriage to couples in a same-sex domestic partnership. This was the everything but the word “marriage” approach to same-sex unions. When those partnerships were being debated in the legislature, even homosexual activists claimed that they did not want the word marriage. It was a religious term, they said, and one with which they wanted nothing to do.
But in 2004, the mayor of San Francisco directed his county clerk to begin issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples. This office is non-elected, and the clerk complied with the mayor’s request, and began allowing homosexuals to marry. This lasted for five months, before the California Supreme Court stopped the process, and ruled that the previous licenses were invalid. The message to Californians was clear: government officials were going to push through same sex marriage unless we availed ourselves of the legal process to pass a constitutional amendment to stop it.
Gavin NewsomThen in 2008, ambiguity was cast aside when the State Supreme Court ruled that the 2000 law was unconstitutional, and that homosexuals had the right to same-sex marriages. This was the result of a lawsuit brought by those challenging the court’s earlier finding that what Newsome did was illegal. In other words, the County Clerk’s decision to issue same-sex marriage licenses (in an act latter declared illegal) is what led to this court case.
Stop and marvel at the absurdity of the process that got to this point. An unelected official bypassed state law to follow a politically motivated order from a mayor, and that unaccountable act compelled all California counties to honor those marriages, and in turn other states (states without a legally binding definition of marriage) to accept California marriages. The national debate on marriage was being decided by the actions of a county clerk!
It was five months later that Proposition 8 passed, which amended the state constitution to specify that marriage is a union between two partners of the opposite sex. The text of the Proposition simply says this: “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.” It was that amendment that was challenged in Federal Court.
There is much about the federal trial that left Christians feeling swindled. First, the state passed on its legal obligation to defend the law. Second, the case was assigned to an openly homosexual judge. Third, that judge ruled that individual counties could not defend proposition 8. That left nobody to do the defending.
California's Supreme Court
California’s Supreme Court
One group did step up, and with funding that they raised, along with an order from the California Supreme Court, they were allowed to defend the case. It was obvious from the trial that they were taking a risky approach—essentially they refused to offer any kind of substantial defense of Prop 8. The legal threshold required of them to have a result in their favor was to show that the amendment had a rational purpose–which is a fairly low bar, legally speaking. Yet they called almost no witnesses, and barely put on a show. Instead, their strategy was simply to state the obvious: it is rational to view marriage as exclusively between a man and a woman. Clearly, that defense did not go over well with the judge.
As a side note, throughout the trial, the LA Times ran lists of people who supported the Proposition 8 effort financially. When those people owned businesses, the Times put that information on there too. Soon LGBT groups began protesting those establishments, and those protests were (you guessed it) covered by the LA Times.
But that is not really the main point. The judges’ ruling essentially leads to the first lie about Proposition 8:
Christian voting rights:
In his ruling, the judge made clear that the motives of voters were what was on trial. Why would a voter want to confine marriage to heterosexuals? There could be no rational basis, the judge wrote, or at least none that was presented at trial. Instead, he said, the only reasonable assumption is that people voted to define marriage because of their religious beliefs [which is astoundingly ironic, in light of the fact that in the early 2000’s the homosexual movement itself said that marriage was a religious term, with which they wanted no part]. The judge went on to write that because there was a large Christian turnout at the election, and that “religion lies at the heart of” opposition to gay marriage, so that “fatally undermines” the Proposition 8 cause.
With that paragraph, the judge made this case was no longer about gay marriage, but about the Christian’s ability to participate in our legal process. Christians had their votes nullified simply because they voted with Christian convictions.
It is also noteworthy that Proposition 8 passed in the same election where President Obama handily defeated John McCain; in other words, a majority of Californians voted for President Obama, while also voting in favor of Proposition 8. But the judge was only interested in the motives of those voting in faovor Proposition 8.
Taking away marriage rights:
But that is not the only lie behind proposition 8. The second is one that has been often repeated, and was in fact the logic used by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in upholding the trial verdict invalidating Proposition 8. They said that California was unique, because they had given homosexuals the right to marry, and Proposition 8 took that away from them. In that light, the court argued, California has to allow gay marriages. Once they started, there is no rational basis to go back (and remember, that rational has now been defined as apart from any religious influence).
But this is simply not true. California had voted two times on the issue of gay marriage, and both times the election affirmed heterosexual unions as the only legal form of marriage. Remember, it was an unelected County Clerk that started issuing the marriage licenses, and those very licenses were invalidated by the state supreme court. It was a challenge to that which opened up the six month period between the State Supreme Court’s decision and Proposition 8 where these marriage were allowed. In other words, in no way did Proposition 8 take away rights from a group. It was an illegal act that led to a legal crisis, which led to the Proposition passing.
As I said earlier, I don’t know what today holds. If Proposition 8 is upheld, or sent back to California for a new trial (for lack of standing on behalf of those that defended it), it probably only delays the inevitable. If the court upholds the findings of the trial judge, it will be a sad day—not only for the concept that governments exist to check sin, rather than to promote it. But for the simple reason that a judge said that if Christians allow their religion to influence their voting, then their votes should not count. In many ways, this is simply the latest step in taking away a Christians’ ability to participate in the public square.

Should You Be Concerned About Losing Access to Your Facebook Account Over Your Conservative Worldview?

On Friday morning (June 21, 2013) I discovered that my Facebook page was not allowing me to login as the administrator. On June 19th and 20th I posted a link to two radio programs and a few articles that were in opposition to the immigration bill. Thursday night I posted a link to my radio program in which I and a reporter with Breitbart.com discussed the horrible nature of the immigration bill. I have never been locked out as the administrator of my Facebook page and this only occurred after posting these two radio programs and a few articles against the immigration bill. The founder of Facebook supports the immigration bill. Why has this never happen before and why did this happen after several postings against the immigration bill?

I could see my Facebook page in its entirety if I was not logged in. However, as soon as I logged in, I could only see the masthead of my FB page. I tried to login on several devices with no success. This has never happen in all my years of being on Facebook. I e-mailed the support center of Facebook on June 22nd as an advertiser with Facebook and received immediate response on Monday and was told it was a problem on my computer. I explained why this was not the case as I could not login on any computer. I received a response again within less than two hours and I suggested that they look to see if my opposition to the immigration bill had caused me to be locked out of administrating my Facebook page. After suggesting this, all e-mails from Facebook stopped for over 24 hours. I then went to work researching for e-mail addresses of FB departments. I sent an e-mail to their advertising department, press department and two other departments notifying them that I was prepared to send an e-mail to over 200,000 on our e-mail list explaining this odd occurrence. I informed them that I would make this odd occurrence the focus of a radio program. I also informed them that if I was going to be locked out of my own page as the administrator then and I would ask my attorney to begin the necessary action to have Facebook refund the over $12,000 we had spent with Facebook to advertise our Facebook page and develop followers.

After 29 hours of not hearing anything from Facebook, and within 15 minutes of sending the e-mail to various Facebook departments, my Facebook page remarkably opened up on both my computer and Ipad and other devices. The question I would like answered is why did this happen and did it have anything to do with posting articles and radio programs on my Facebook page in opposition to the immigration bill that is being promoted by the founder of Facebook? Is Facebook monitoring those that are in opposition to the immigration bill? Should those with a Facebook account be concerned that they may lose access to their Facebook account over their conservative views whether they be religious or public policy? Here is an article on how the founder of Facebook is promoting the passage of the immigration bill.

Pope Francis has announced that he is moving towards giving sainthood to the former Pope John Paul who in essence according to some was a false prophet preparing for the false church in the last days

by Jimmy DeYoung - prophecytoday.com
Listen to Today's Program Play - June 28, 2013

The Vatican released a statement that the late Pope John Paul was being considered for sainthood. I spoke with broadcast partner Mike Gendron in Dallas, TX to find out the process for how the former Pope would qualify for sainthood and then I ask him was Pope John Paul qualified to be a saint.

Mike Gendron: The process to become a saint in Catholicism includes inquiries into the person's life, reputation, and activities and then a thorough examination of the person's written and spoken words. So, this should disqualify John Paul when you consider that he publicly declared that Allah was the one true god, he praised Mohammed as a true prophet, he declared that Jesus is not necessary for salvation when he said, "All who seek God with a sincere heart including those who do not know Christ will enter God's Kingdom".

He also embraced Evolution. Regarding his moral character, he ordered bishops and cardinals to conceal and protect priests who sexually molested boys and then he decreed that the victims should be subject to excommunication if they divulge the identity of the offending priest. This is a look at John Paul's life. If you look at that through the lens of Scripture, he would not be considered a saint but a false prophet who Catholics need to be warned about.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The process to naming the former Pope John Paul as a saint is actually the pathway for the fulfillment of Bible prophecy.

In Catholicism one becomes a saint by performing miracles. Jesus Christ in His Olivet Discourse, Matthew 24 said that deception would be the greatest sign indicating that we are living in the last days and His Second Coming is soon to take place. Matthew 24:4, 5, 11, and 24 talks about the deception that would happen and in verse 24 the deception would be communicated through signs, wonders, and miracles. That is what we see happening in the location where we see the false church will be setup in Rome, Italy.

This report is helping us to understand that we are quickly approaching the time when Bible prophecy will indeed be fulfilled. prophecytoday.com

The Two Ways

by John MacArthur - gty.org - Source Link
Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it. -Matthew 7:13–14
Two gates lead to two different ways. The wide gate leads to a way that is broad; the narrow gate leads to a way that is narrow. The narrow way is the way of the godly, and the broad way is the way of the ungodly—the only two ways people can travel.
The way that is broad is the easy, attractive, inclusive, indulgent, permissive, and self-oriented way of the world. It has few rules, few restrictions, and few requirements. All you need to do is profess Jesus, or at least seem religious, and you’ll be accepted into that group.
The narrow way is the hard and demanding way—the way of self-denial and the cross. When Jesus was asked, “Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?” He replied, “Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able” (Luke 13:23–24). The Greek word for “strive” (agonizomai) indicates that entering the door to God’s kingdom takes conscious, purposeful, and intense effort.
The narrow way is for those who want God’s kingdom at any cost. Make sure that you’re following Christ as Lord along that narrow way.
Ask Yourself:
We certainly live amid a “broad way” mentality—a mind-set that can worm itself into our own ways of thinking. But what has God taught and shown you during those times when you’ve been most devoid of worldly restraints, when your life has been most wholly devoted to His Word and His ways. gty.org
